Mexican artist influenced by the architecture of Le Corbusier, who studied set design and eventually fell in with a group of European Surrealist painters. Gerzso is exhibited in the Tate, Art Institute of Chicago, Hirshorn Museum.

Gerzo uses the language of abstraction to evoke landscapes. He considered these two forms expressions of psychological dispositions, yet tied to the land.

Tierra Amarilla means the the yellow land. The grids of yellow appear pure but are hatched with black hatchings and suffusion of red. For Gerzso there is no single color, all color is a complicated synthesis of varying shades.
