Everyone Wants a Ruscha

Everyone Wants a Ruscha

Jeff Bezos made that clear with a $68 million purchase of Ruscha's iconic 1960s gas station painting. Ed Ruscha ranks 11th worldwide for auction volume — even his editions are on the rise, with over half selling above estimate. He has moved from art-world favorite to something more permanent: a canonical name.

The Power of a Hero

The Power of a Hero

The Hero artwork doesn't decorate a room. It defines it. A Hero is a single authoritative work— typically over 30 inches, or a considered grouping of art that creates a monumental visual moment. Like a fireplace, it establishes proportions, sets the visual rhythm, and quietly determines how everything else falls into place.

A Hero artwork defines the room, setting its scale, rhythm, and the placement of everything around it.

Alex Katz: Seasons hits the Modern Museum of Art

This exhibition celebrates the artist’s evolving interpretation of the natural world. This series of works chronicles the changing of seasons – with vibrant colors and stark palettes. Katz draws inspiration from his proximity to surrounding nature, whether it be trees on Houston Street or the landscape of his summers in Maine. Ceres showcases a similar collection of Katz’s with Tree 8, Tree 10, and Sunrise.
