Iva Gueorguieva

Iva Gueorguieva is a Bulgarian-born artist who currently resides and works in Los Angeles, California. She was born in 1974 in Sofia, Bulgaria, and grew up in a family of artists. Her father was a painter and her mother was a textile designer, which greatly influenced her artistic development. Gueorguieva received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums across the United States and Europe.

Gueorguieva's paintings are characterized by their bold, abstract compositions that combine a variety of materials and techniques. She often incorporates collage elements, such as fabric, paper, and found objects, into her work, creating a sense of depth and texture. Her use of vibrant colors and dynamic shapes creates a sense of movement and energy in her paintings.

In addition to her work as a painter, Gueorguieva is also a professor of art at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has received numerous awards and grants for her work, including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2011. Her work is held in the collections of several museums, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
